Reading fluently is highly dependent on two essential skills, quick word recognition and precision visual tracking. It is important to know that 95% of people with reading and learning disabilities have visual tracking problems. The following graphs show the visual tracking results of patients with reading disabilities before and after eye movement training. In each case, visual tracking skills improve significantly in just a few months with excellent eye coordination and increased reading speed. Performance results are typical of patients completing the program and exceed expected grade level norms. All of these students had some level of word recognition training which contributed to gains.
Average reading Speed for High School Graduate is 250 words per minute, Average reading speed for college graduate is 350 words per minute.
